In 1947 the Armstrong family opened The Buccaneer with 10 guest rooms. Today, the resort is still owned by the Armstrong family, who continue to make it their mission to welcome their guests personally. Every Tuesday evening, a cocktail reception is held at the iconic Sugar Mill, where Elizabeth Armstrong will stop in to mingle and greet as many of her guests as possible. The Buccaneer is legendary for their family friendly accommodations and service. Generations of families have been coming to the Buccaneer for seasonal vacations and will continue to do so for generations to come.

HERE’S THE SCOOP

All guest rooms are spacious with king or double beds, large tile bathrooms and a patio or balcony with magnificent views and a variety of floor plans to accommodate the needs of each guest. Family cottages are available with twin beds. For larger families the Ficus Suite has two king bedrooms with full baths, two sitting rooms with pull-outs as well as a kitchenette and can be connected to adjoining suites to increase the capacity.

OUT AND ABOUT

Aside from the three pristine white sand beaches, the available activities are endless. The Buccaneer has a full-service Spa and salon, an 18-hole golf course, that is considered to be one of the finest in the Caribbean, eight Laykold tennis courts, two are lit for night play, paddleboards, ocean kayaks, snorkeling gear, two pools, nature trails and a full fitness center. Volleyball, soccer, corn hole, Ping-Pong and beachside basketball are also offered. Buccaneer Kids Camp is available daily, year round for children 4-12, so parents can enjoy some adult time.

NOTE TO SELF

No passport is necessary for US citizens, however, parents must bring identification for all children for customs when departing St. Croix, a certified birth certificate, passport or photo ID is acceptable.
