The Fairmont Hotel in Chicago is the perfect escape for the couple looking for a sophisticated romantic weekend. The lobby welcomes you with its incredible large lounge area and cool, classic atmosphere that greets you to the city. Walking through the lobby, you can smell the savory scents coming from the hotel’s acclaimed and elite Aria Restaurant. This chic restaurant is known for its classic American food with an exotic twist. For something quick and elegant, take a stool at the glass sushi bar and enjoy the succulent and sexy food and atmosphere.
The hotel is filled with amenities which I took note of on the way up to my room; there is convenient valet service so you don’t have to worry about parking in the city, a hotel guest membership during your stay to utilize the Lakeshore Athletic Club which is complete with a climbing wall for the guests that are fitness enthusiasts, and a full-service executive business center. Many of the rooms face the city, so you always have a great view of the city that beckons you with the exciting Chicago night life and daytime haven for shopping. However, the luxurious accommodations in the room may entice you to stay in, especially when you are there for a romantic weekend getaway.
The hotel offers an escape to romance package which includes; breakfast in bed, late check out, and a pleasurable karma sutra kit to keep things interesting all night. To entice you further, the hotel offers a menu and services from a bath sommelier, so you can fully experience what a real bath was intended to be. The one that caught my eye was the Sugar bath, with warm water, sugar cubes, aromatic lotion, and a bowl of succulent strawberries with brown sugar, just to make the relaxing experience a little more special.
The hotel is perfectly located downtown only a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile, so if you do manage to get out of your room you can get some great shopping in while you’re there.
